他委婉的诉说
王彤的每条线都委婉的诉说着。有时诉说着无奈,而无奈重叠起来又变成一种粗砺,变成了执着甚至坚韧。
Each and every line of Wang Tong’s works is a euphemism. It sometimes reveals helplessness that accumulates to become coarseness and even perseverance and tenacity.
王彤的每条线都在好奇的游历着。出发的时候未必带着地图,一路追随着自己的兴致,流连着自己的机缘。
Each and every line of Wang Tong’s works is roaming in wonder, letting itself go in whichever direction it may be for something totally unknown.
王彤的线条就是笔墨。所以不等于零。王彤的线条没有体积。所以它们也会做梦。所以它们不会沉没在视觉多彩的诱惑里。
Lines of Wang Tong’s works are writings that not equal zero but have no dimension at all. Therefore, they dream too. They never indulge themselves in the temptation of the colors.
王彤的画面有故事,但是故事却是在物象的韵味之间讲出来,而不是表面的情节。他的人物不论干什么都有几分吃力,都有几分不顺畅的艰涩。他的山石林立也象人物瑟瑟发抖,他的鱼儿也象无助的询问。人群的欢乐那么偶然,疑虑的阴影去永恒地盘踞心头。
The works of Wang Tong have their stories that are spelled out amidst the lingering charm of drawings instead of superficial plots. The figures of his works are tinted with some stringency and hindered intelligibility. The collection of mountains and rocks in his works resemble the trembling of figures; the fishes in this works seem to be making helpless inquiries. The joy of figures is so occasional that the shade of doubt is perpetually loaded in the heart.
走出成法,告别陈规,这是学习艺术的必经之路。王彤作品的魅力告诉我们,走出成法之路不是关注技法的过程,不是就技法论技法的过程,不是研究纯语言的过程,不是对于形式感爱不释手精益求精的过程。
Shuffle off normal practices and say goodbye to stereotypes, which is the only way to art learning. The charm of Wang Tong’s works proves that shuffling off normal practices is neither focusing on techniques or pure languages of art nor keeping improving on feelings of forms.
零五年第一次见到王彤先生的作品就十分感慨,这些有意思的东西不是一种样式,不是一种风格的别致。打动我的是一种专注,精神上的专注:不能容忍套话,不能容忍空洞,不能容忍驾轻就熟的技能,不能容忍人云亦云的假话。这不是新的一种样式技法,这是一个境界。悟到这一层,每一笔都有了生命,而生命又总是不会重复,不会重复别人,也不重复自己。
I was deeply moved by the works of Wang Tong the first time I saw them in 2005. These interesting works are never of the same form or style. What moves me is some sort of dedication - spiritual dedication that allows for no formula, inanition, choosing familiar techniques with ease or falseness. It is not a new mode, a new technique but a new state. While you are of a certain level, each stroke comes to life but it never repeats itself or others.
